Description
The
Rumble 1 is a small self contained circuit board that plays sound clips
from internal data memory. It is intended to be included within a model
railway layout and used to provide background sounds, greatly
increasing the realism of the layout. Imagine how hearing station
announcements, doors slamming, track clatter, and even rumbles of
thunder would bring life to a layout. Being small and self contained,
more than one unit could be added, allowing truly localised sounds
around a layout.
The unit is self contained requiring only power to operate and includes
a speaker, an in-built optical sensor and connections to allow the unit
to be triggered from switch closures.
The unit has been designed using modern technology, allowing benefits
over competing systems. Multiple sounds can be stored. The sound clips
are downloaded using the supplied PC control software. The sound clips
are prepared from the sound files using the popular wav file
format and as such may be created/compiled by the user. Within the
layout, an in-built optical sensor and switch closures can be used to
trigger a sound clip as well as being played at random. The triggers
are fully configurable from the supplied PC control software
